Shannon Potts

Regional Director - UK & Europe

Shannon works with Sparks as the regional director of Europe, and she supports camp curricular design. She led our programs in the Bahamas, London, Cambridge and Columbia prior to assuming this role. Prior to working with Sparks, Shannon led Summer programming at Lawrenceville and Phillips Exeter Academy.

First and foremost, Shannon is an educator.  She has spent the past thirteen years in middle and high school classrooms where she has been named as a finalist for the Big Apple and FLAG Teaching awards. In 2020, her students published the internationally recognized children's book Who is Florence Price?

She credits her effectiveness as an educator with the eight years prior that she spent sitting in the coxswain seat, developing her communication and interpersonal skills as she learned to embody her role as a leader.

Shannon is interested in the modes of education that can make us more aware and engaged in the world.
